Mompha Net Worth (Ismaila Mustapha), Biography & EFCC Arrest (2021)

Ismaila Mustapha AKA Mompha

Ismaila Mustapha (born June 16, 1979), also known as Mompha, is a Nigerian ‘big boy' based in Dubai, a father of two, and the owner/CEO of Mompha Bureau De Change, which is located on Bankole Street in Lagos Island, South-West Nigeria. He is well-known for his lavish lifestyle, which he flaunts on Instagram, and was recently apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria's anti-graft body, after fleeing to Nigeria secretly from Dubai to avoid being detained by Interpol for financial fraud.

Mompha, as he is known, is one of Nigeria's major spenders, whose brazen show of riches and lavish lifestyle, alongside the likes of E-Money and Ray Hushpuppi, is known to almost all Nigerians active on Instagram. In this article, we'll look at the life of Ismail Mustapha, also known as Mompha.

Mompha Biography

Ismail Mustapha, aka Mompha, was born in Lagos on June 16, 1979. He received his high school education at Government College in Ikorodu. Surprisingly, little is known about his later years of schooling.

Mompha is a devout Muslim man who never fails to brag about his wife and two sons on his Instagram profile, which is littered with pictures of them.

Mompha has friends in the Nigerian entertainment industry, including Tiwa Savage, Davido, and Patoranking, perhaps as a result of his wealth. On an aircraft, he was once photographed with Mallam Nasiru El Rufai, the Governor of Kaduna State, who was also the former Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises and the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Hushpuppi, another Dubai-based Nigerian ‘big boy' with no traceable income source, was Mompha's best friend before the two fell out about a year ago, resulting in a slew of accusations. Mompha promised to "deal with Hushpuppi" and disclosed Hushpuppi's parents' financial situation, saying that Hushpuppi's father works as a taxi driver and his mother sells bread. He also said that he hosted Hushpuppi whenever he visited Dubai, and that Hushpuppi liked to borrow money from him and bring girls to his home because he couldn't afford to pay rent. Since then, the two have become silent adversaries.

Mompha's Arrest By EFCC

Mompha was apprehended by EFCC in September 2019. The exact date is uncertain since many people were unaware until Kemi Olunloyo, a self-proclaimed Nigerian investigative journalist, broke the news. Mompha was apprehended by Nigeria's anti-graft agency while escaping from Interpol in Dubai after learning of his impending detention. It's unclear how much is involved, but according to the EFCC's official account, Mompha has agreed to comply, leaving fans wondering if Hushpuppi will be the next to be arrested.

Mompha is the second Nigerian to be arrested for fraud in 2019, after Obiwanne Okeke aka Invictus Obi.

Mompha Net Worth

Mompha had boasted of his obscene riches many times. Although his approximate net worth is unknown, his fleet of luxury and supercars, as well as super luxurious wristwatches and designer clothes & wears, including the 75th pair of Christian Louboutins which was signed by Christian Louboutin himself; would place Mompha's estimated net worth at $500 million if not cut down.

Does Mompha Owns a Private Jet?
